What is Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR)?

Several models of Edge glasses are equipped with Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR), a soft and pliable compound that increases its grip as it becomes warm or damp from perspiration. This technology is used in many of our temple tips and nose pads to prevent slipping and keep glasses on the face.

Robson

The best-selling Robson has a lightweight, classic design that provides complete coverage and eye protection. Light Blue Lens

Mirrored Lenses

Silver Mirror lenses reflect light in bright conditions, decrease visible brightness, and reduce glare. A silver-colored mirror coating adds a reflective layer to the light-blocking properties of a smoke base tint. 13% of visible light passes through this lens color. Available in the Brazeau, Robson, Khor, and Zorge.

Blue Mirror lenses reflect light in bright conditions, decrease visible brightness, and reduce glare. A blue-colored mirror coating adds a highly reflective layer to the light-blocking properties of a smoke base tint. 12% of visible light passes through this lens color. Available in the Brazeau, Robson, and Khor.

Polarized Aqua Precision Blue Mirror lenses offer the ultimate visual clarity and contrast in bright light conditions. Vapor Shield Military-Grade Anti-Fog Lenses

Most situations can be handled with Standard Anti-Fog lenses, but for extreme environments Edge Eyewear developed a revolutionary, military-grade anti-fog technology called Vapor Shield. It is completely resistant to fog.

Vapor Shield offers the ultimate visibility by minimizing the surface tension for water. These lenses are capable of withstanding the most demanding circumstances – whether exposed to hot, cold, or humid conditions, they stand up to the test.

Vapor Shield lenses have passed the following laboratory tests:
• -42°C for 15 minutes
• Transition from -42°C to 2°C
• 52°C with 80% humidity

Anti-Reflective Lens

Anti-Reflective lenses are useful in both indoor and outdoor conditions. A light silver mirror coating on a clear lens reflects light that hits the surface, resulting in a reduction of reflection and glare. 65% of visible light passes through this lens color.

Khor

The blade-style Khor provides a stylish sport fit and provides the maximum level of eye protection. Its flexible and durable black frame is equipped with soft thermoplastic rubber nose pads and Edge-Flex temple arms to create a comfortable, nonslip fit. The open lower frame prevents sight obstruction and allows lenses to be removed and replaced easily.

What Are UV Rays?

Ultraviolet radiation can cause serious damage to the eyes. Edge Eyewear lenses filter dangerous UVA, UVB, and UVC rays for optimal safety.

UVA (315-380 nm) Although UVA rays are the least intense, they account for more than 90% of UV radiation reaching the earth and remain constant throughout the year. Exposure to high levels of this light without proper lens filtration may cause damage to all layers of the cornea.

UVB (280-315 nm) UVB rays are the main cause of sunburn and are strongest in the summer. Permanent retina or lens damage can result from exposure to high levels of this light without proper lens filtration.

UVC (180 -280 nm) The most harmful type of ultraviolet radiation comes from UVC rays. The ozone layer keeps most of the sun’s UVC radiation from reaching the earth, but some man-made UV sources, such as welders and cutting torches, do emit these hazardous rays. Exposure to high levels of this light without proper eye protection may result in photokeratitis, often referred to as “welder’s flash.”

All Edge Eyewear lenses contain light-reflecting compounds that scatter UV waves. This blocks 99.9% of ultraviolet radiation, which is the highest level of protection on the market.

Zorge

The blade-style Zorge is a lightweight pair of sport glasses that are perfect for any activity. The flexible and durable black frame is equipped with soft thermoplastic rubber nose pads and temple arms to create a comfortable, nonslip fit. The absence of a lower frame prevents sight obstruction, making it great for jobs where peripheral vision is of the utmost importance.

Polarized G-15 Silver Mirror Lens

Polarized G-15 Silver Mirror lenses provide contrast and image definition while maintaining a neutral and true-to-life perspective. A silver mirror coating adds a reflective layer to the cooling properties of a green-colored base tint, and the addition of a polarizing filter increases clarity by reducing glare.

The U. S. Air Force engineered G-15 technology for use in aviator lenses during the 1950s. Through extensive experimentation with the light spectrum, it was found that transmission of green and yellow light could be maximized at 550 nanometers – the two colors best perceived by the human eye. The use of this specialized technology results in vivid yet realistic optics, which produce a noticeable cooling sensation for the eyes. Edge Eyewear is the first company ever to offer a safety-rated G-15 lens.

Edge Eyewear's Polarized G-15 Silver Mirror lens is available in several frame styles for both the US and Canada. All Edge Eyewear glasses block 99.9% of UVA, UVB, and UVC radiation and are Military Ballistic MCEPS GL-PD 10-12 rated. All styles are compliant with CSA Z94.3-07.

Multi-Fit glasses are specifically designed to fit a variety of facial an nose bridge structures. With the addition of an adjustable nosepiece, a perfect fit can be achieved by bending each flexible nose pad inward, outward, forward, or backward. Multi-Fit XL glasses are ideal for those who have larger facial structures and require the addition of a nosepiece that can be modified

Amber Lens

Amber lenses make variable light conditions appear brighter and filter medium levels of blue light. Amber coloring increases depth perception and contrast during activities where light is flat or contrast is minimal, such as working in the snow or skiing. 57% of visible light passes through this lens color.
