All Edge Eyewear glasses are tested in independent laboratories to
assure their compliance with CSA Z94.3-07 and Military Ballistic
MCEPS GL-PD 10-12 standards.
What is CSA Z94.3-07?
All Canadian eye safety standards are created by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). CCOHS enforces these standards and functions as the primary national agency in Canada for the advancement of safe and healthy workplaces and preventing work-related injury, illness, and death. Additional contributions to this standard are provided by provincial and territorial labour departments and workers' compensation boards.
What is Military MCEPS GL-PD 10-12 (Ballistic Standard)?
The
current Military Combat Eye Protection Systems (MCEPS) standard is
called MCEPS GL-PD 10-12, which superseded the MIL-PRF-31013 standard in
April of 1996. This standard contains a series of tests that are much
more aggressive than ANSI’s, such as ballistic fragmentation tests, to
simulate projectiles and other dangers faced in combat.
